Spatial Patterns of Herpetofauna Biodiversity in Ohio
M.S. at BGSU
We (Martin & Root 2015) surveyed Oak Openings Preserve for herpetofauna and examined species diversity, abundance, spatial patterns and habitat usage. Amphibians were widespread and easier to detect, while reptiles were rarer and more dispersed. Both were more abundant within forested areas. These data provide an understanding of diversity and provide a representative baseline for future monitoring.
